One of the problems in the field of biological restoration of the wetlands of deserts is the lack of diversity of species compatible with existing conditions and how establishment. Natural potential of moist margin of salt lake in Kashan during a research project entitled "Geochemistry and vegetation cover characteristics of Iranian wetland margins for their biological recovery (identification of habitat potential)" were identified and were zoned areas with different salinity and groundwater levels. Using the information of the above design, in order to enrich the species diversity and biological regeneration of the wet margin of salt lake, the establishment of 6 species of Suaeda fruticosa, Halostachys caspica, Atriplex halimus, Salsola imbricata, Halocnemum strobilaceum, Aeluropus littoralis, based on Complete randomized blocks were studied under species in 3 replicates. In this regard, after collecting the seeds of above mentioned species and determining the genus, they cultivate at the arid and desert areas research station of Kashan, and then cultivate according to the plan of the project implementation. The main trait was evaluated for survival percentage, but traits such as height and diameter of the canopy were also measured during the 5 years of the project. The results were analyzed in SPSS environment and it was determined that H.strobilaceum, S.fruticosa, H.caspica, S.imbricata were 5.67, 5.11, 5.56 and 4.9, each with the highest survival has been implementing the plan for the last 5 years. Considering the high nutritional value and favorable palatability for the camel, it is recommended to cultivate in the wet margin of the salt lake for prevent wind erosion and dust.

Early establishment of rangeland plant species, especially in arid and semi-arid regions, is a considerable issue to increase their yield. In order to investigate the effects of seed priming on changes in yield of the Astragalus brachyodontus pasture species, the present study was carried out in the greenhouse with factorial design. Three treatments of hydro-priming (distilled water), osmopriming (Polyethylene Glycol with two levels of -0.4 and -0.8 MPa) and hormone priming (gibberellic acid) as the first factor, and three levels of deficit irrigation stress (100% field capacity, 75% field capacity and 50% field capacity) were considered as the second factor and 3 populations (Zanjan, Qom and Khalkhal) as the Third factor with 3 replications. The results showed that seed priming, deficit irrigation stress, populations and their interactions had a significant effect at the 1% probability level on all investigated traits. The soil water reduction caused a significant decrease in seedling germination percentage, stem length and weight, but the root length increased and the root weight first increased and then decreased intensively. The maximum yield of height (11.0267 cm), root length (30.6467 cm), stem weight (1.1700 g) and root weight (1.3664 g) was related to Zanjan population in normal irrigation. The treatment of -0.4 MPa osmopriming had the highest values in root length (33.1556 cm), stem weight (1.2144 g) and root weight (1.4800 g). Generally, according to the present research, -0.4 MPa osmo-priming and hormone priming with gibberellic acid were introduced as treatments to improve the Astragalus brachyodontus species performance in the greenhouse under the severe deficit irrigation stress condition. This results can be considered to improving the establishment and performance of this native valuable forage, in breeding programs and rangeland development, to improve its initial establishment in deficit irrigation conditions.

Biological stabilization of dunes is one way to prevent wind erosion and the creation of sandstorms. Clligonum is one of the plant species that due to its unique root structure can settle in the dunes and stabilize them. In this study, we intend to investigate the most suitable species and age of Calligonum shrub for planting in three different points of Kashan long sand. This research is in the form of split-plot (split plots) based on the randomized block design. Analysis of variance showed that the differences between different locations and the age of different seedlings and species of Calligonum were significant at the level of (p≤0.01). In all three age groups, Calligonum turkestanicum with 61.15% had the highest establishment, and C. comosum is in the second rank, and C. schizopterum and C. bungei species were in the third and fourth ranks, respectively. Siazgeh region, with an average of 59.7%, has the highest percentage of seedlings. Three-year seedlings, with an average of 58.7%, had no significant difference with two-year seedlings with an average of 57.01% and with one-year seedlings with an average of 53.84% at the level of (p≤0.01).Accordingly, the use of 0biennial C. turkestanicum seedlings and three-year C. comosum seedlings is recommended for sand stabilization in Kashan region.

(Festuca ovina) is one of the most important and palatable rangeland species in the rangelands of Mazandaran province and has a wide range of distribution in mountain rangelands that, in addition to nutritional value for livestock, plays a role in the breeding and rehabilitation program of mountain rangelands. Due to the importance of this species, several populations of F. ovina species, whose seeds were collected from different rangelands of the province, were planted in plastic trays. After germination and a short period of operation, in early spring, in the area of Poshtkuh research station in the southeastern heights of Sari, they were planted on two 20-meter-long lines so that 40 bases of each accession were placed on the planting line. Their spacing on rows of 50 m and line spacing of 1 m were considered. The experiment was conducted during 2011-2015. The evaluation began in the spring of 2013. Evaluation criteria for plant selection were phenological stages, plant height at the time of cluster emergence, canopy level, forage production, and seed production. Various phenological stages, including vegetative stage, flowering, seed formation, and fall regrowth, were recorded with weekly reference from the bases that have been nailed for this purpose. The obtained data were statistically analyzed in SPSS16. The results of the combined analysis of variance of the data related to the performance of the evaluated factors showed that there is a significant difference at the level of (p≤0.01) between the six populations of the studied species. The highest amount of canopy cover, plant height, viability, seed production, and forage production is related to the population of Siahsang rangeland, and the lowest values of the mentioned factors are related to the populations of Kangeloo and Doona rangelands. Therefore, to produce and strengthen forage vegetation, the seeds of this population can be used in the mountain rangelands of the central regions of Mazandaran province.

Nine accessions of Elymus libanoticus was planted at Baharestan Agricultural Research Station and evaluated in order to nominate of the best accessions in terms of adaptability and establishment. The experiment started in 2010 and continued to 2015. For each accession adequate seed of different stocks in whole of the province was reaped. In reproduction phase (2010 autumn) and after soil preparation, all accessions were planted on plots with 5*6 m2, with 50cm spacing of planting line and planting points and 3cm of planting depth. At this stage weeding, and three irrigation times were performed. In the summer of 2011 mature seeds of grown accessions harvested and re-cultivation of seeds that were not green in the first stage was carried out. In 2011 and 2012autumn, the accession of each species based on complete randomized block design with 3 replications and 2 meter intervals on 2*4 m2 plots and 4 lines with 4-meter length and 50 cm intervals (In order to elimination of marginal effects) and 3 cm of planting depth planted as rainfed. The measured traits for plant selection were 1) growing 2) flowering 3) seeding 4) Yield 5) canopy cover 6) height and 7) regrowing, all data were statistically compound analyzed by SPSS and averages were compared using Duncan method. Results showed that there were significant differences among the measured traits and accessions (P≤0.05) in all studied years (2012-2015). In terms of measured parameters for all accessions of Elymus libanoticus, Iranshah and Chakhelo accession, respectively showed superiority and minority in the Baharestan research station conditions. In addition to the difference in genotypic power and the amount of precipitation that mentioned in previous studies as the only limiting factors of growth and propagation, Variable factors such as altitude from sea level, depth of soil and geographic direction of collecting areas of different accessions are factors influencing the establishment and adaptation of rangeland species in the site of cultivation and have the most effect on the performance of different accessions. So, it seems that zoning of areas is necessary for seed reproduction in order to improve the rangelands, and the use of extras in each area is necessary for replanting and planting in the same area.

Helianthemum lippii and Tavernieracuneifoliais are the most important broadleaf plants of Hormozgan province, Iran. To investigate the establishment of these species, this study was conducted at the Watershed Management and Natural Resources Station of Dehgin (Hormozgan province) from November 2014 for three years. The three methods of seeding in farrow, pitting, and crescent catchment were studied in a randomized complete block design with three replications in SAS software. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between experimental structures, plant species used, and also the interaction of structure and species. A statistically significant difference was recorded for Helianthemum lippii and Taverniera cuneifolia at the level of 5%, for the crescent catchment structures, pitting, and contour-furrow at the level of 1%, and also for the interaction of structure and species at the level of 1%. The highest percentage of species establishment was in the crescent catchment structure with 27.1% and the lowest was related to the pitting structure with 3.2%. Investigation of the interaction of structure and species in the rate of species establishement in different structures showed that the highest percentage of establishement was related to Taverniera cuneifolia with 31.2% in the crescent-shaped structure, after that, the highest percentage of establishment was related to Helianthemum lippii with 22.9% in the same structure. The lowest establishment was related to the contour-furrow structure with 2.1% for Taverniera cuneifolia and pitting structure with 2.1% for Helianthemum lippii. Based on the results of the present study, it is suggested that to successfully implement rangeland cultivation projects with Lippii Helianthemum and Taverniera cuneifolia in similar climates of Hormozgan province, the mentioned species should be planted in crescent-shaped structures.

A significant area of the country's rangelands is degraded due to various factors and an important part of rangeland species is endangered or their population is severely reduced. Rangeland improvement and reclamation through selecting suitable species and finding the best cultivation methods are of utmost importance in these rangelands. Therefore, according to the results of the research project performed in the Research Institute of Forests and Rangelands, the seeds of Sa.arbuscula were collected from different rangelands of Semnan province along with the existing populations. The study was conducted in a randomized complete block design with three replications at Semnan Research Station since 2011 for five years. The data were analyzed using SAS software and the means were compared with Duncan's test. Our results clearly showed that among the study accessions of Sa. arbuscular, the genotypes 230 and 234 with an establishment percentage of 86.67% and 84.02% were superior, respectively. Therefore, the genotypes 230 and 234 could be recommended for rangeland improvement and reclamation.

This research was performed to determine the facilitation effect of some species in a degraded rangeland on establishment and primary growth of two important forage spices: Agropyron desertorum (Fisch.) Schultes and Secale montanum Guss. Acantholimon festucaceum (Jaub & Spach) Boiss, Eryngium bungei Boiss, Noaea mucronata (Forsk.) Aschers. and Peganum harmala L. were studied as Secale montanum nurse plants and Acanthophyllum bracteatum Boiss., Astragalus arbusculinus Bornm. & Gauba, Ephorbia orientalis L. and Noaea mucronata (Forsk.) Aschers. were investigated as Agropyron desertorum nurse plants. Seed sowing of the two forage species was carried out in the middle of autumn in the understory of nurse plants and the space between the plants. The soil moisture was measured at two depths of 0-10 and 15-25 cm. After analysis of variance, mean comparisons were made by Duncan's method. According to the results, due to the facilitation effects of Acantholimon festucaceum, Eryngium bungei, Noaea mucronata, and Peganum harmala, the primary growth (height) of Secale montanum seedlings was calculated to be 3.4, 2.6, 3.9 and 2.2 times higher than the open space treatment, respectively. All species had similar positive effect on the primary growth (height) of Agropyron desertorum; however, Noaea mucronata, with the most positive effect, could increase the establishment rate to 62 %. Considering the importance of facilitation effect of deformed populations of Noaea mucronata in increasing the primary establishment of Agropyron desertorumandprimary growth of Secale montanum, the use of Noaea mucronata nurse role in autumn rangeland improvement is recommended to the natural resources offices.
